Manchester United star Paul Pogba injury report, Ole Gunnar Solskjær, Harry Maguire’s captaincy, video, highlights

As another blow to Ole Gunnar Solskjær’s hopes of continuing as Manchester United coach, World Cup winner Paul Pogba is facing a long stay on the sidelines.

The French star was withdrawn from the national squad ahead of their upcoming November internationals.

“Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba has withdrawn from the French squad due to an injury he suffered during training on Monday.

The 28-year-old had joined his international team-mates as Les Bleus prepares for important World Cup qualifiers against Kazakhstan and Finland.

“Unfortunately, Paul sustained an injury to his right thigh while attending a training session on Monday.

“The French Football Federation has confirmed that Pogba will miss both of the country’s upcoming matches in this international break in November.”

According to ESPN, Pogba injured his thigh during a shooting practice after linking to his teammates.

Pogba missed United’s 2-0 loss to rivals Manchester City following his red card in the embarrassing 5-0 massacre against Liverpool.

The 28-year-old, who has seven months to run on his contract, is expected to be out for the New Year.

It is a devastating blow to a club and a manager under the gun, with a number of former stars including Rio Ferdinand urging Solskjær to step aside after six defeats from 12 matches.

Meanwhile, Old Trafford title winner Paul Parker has called on Solskjær to step down as leader of Harry Maguire.

The $ 146 million defender got the captaincy after Ashley Young’s departure back in January 2020.

But Parker believes Maguire was not the right fit as captain.

“Manchester United gave Harry Maguire the captaincy too early,” Parker said.

“It surprised many people, it made no sense, and it has not fit well from day one.

“With captains, it’s not about who has the biggest transfer fee or who is the best player. There’s a lot more to it than that.

“He is not the right player to be captain of Manchester United at the moment and he has a lot in his game that needs to be rectified.”

United’s defense was taken to the cleanup against Liverpool, and as captain, Maguire handled most of the criticism.

In sixth place in the league, only Leicester and Leeds (18) have conceded more than United’s 17 goals in the top 15 in the standings.

Since United’s defense is worth $ 395 million in total, questions are being asked as to whether it’s worth it.

“The amount of money Manchester United paid for Maguire was way too much,” Parker told BonusCodeBets

“They wanted to buy him, made a great song and danced about the fee, and then they followed along and actually paid it.

“People say he had a fantastic summer for England, but his only real test was in the final against Italy and he was found deficient against them positionally.”
