The Calgary Police Service’s homicide unit is investigating after a man was killed in a targeted shooting outside a store Monday night.

Officers responded to reports of a seriously injured man in the 200-block on 28 Street SE after 6 p.m.

Police say the man died at the scene.

Officers said they are “working to gather as much information as possible” to provide a suspicious description.

“The first hours of any homicide investigation are crucial to gathering as much information as we can, to lead to a swift apprehension of the person or persons responsible,” said Staff Sgt. Martin Schiavetta from the CPS homicide unit.
