Shaun Wright-Phillips has backed up Manchester City win the Premier League title this season ahead of current leaders Chelsea.

City are currently in second place in the table with 26 points from their first 12 games.

Meanwhile, Thomas Tuchel’s Chelsea team leads the way in the top table, having lost one of their first 12 matches and conceded a league low of four goals so far this season.

The Blues enter Sunday’s match against struggling Manchester United after winning nine of their last two matches in all competitions, six of them without star striker Romelu Lukaku, who has spent some time on the sidelines with an ankle injury.

But despite their dominance in the early season, former Premier League midfielder Wright-Phillips believes City’s experience of winning the title will help them win, while naming Liverpool and West Ham United as the other top clubs. , which will finish in the top four during this period.

“For me, if City get a striker, they would most likely run away with the league, I think,” he told

“But at the moment, I still think City are favorites because they have been proven over a long period of time.

“So I’m going to City, Chelsea, Liverpool, and you know what I want to go after an outsider, I would say West Ham might just sneak in.”

The Hammers have had an incredible start to the season and are currently in fourth place in the league table after impressive victories over Liverpool, Manchester United and Tottenham.

David Moyes’ team travels to the Etihad to host City this weekend, in what looks to be another tough test for the club in east London.
