Earlier this month, we shared the news that Miantiao, the newly opened eatery of the Shangri-La Hotel Vancouver, announced that it would close soon.

The Italian-Chinese restaurant confirmed that it would offer its final service before closing on Monday, November 29, after a six-month drive.

Miantiao’s operations team, Kitchen Table Restaurants, teased that a new eatery from them was already on its way to space, and now we know what’s up.

The new full-service Italian concept that takes over the third level downtown restaurant has been unveiled: Carlino.

Named after the grandfather of a kitchen table partner, Carlino promises classic Friulian dishes and dishes from nearby regions of Trentino and Veneto.

Carlino’s culinary program will be led by award-winning chef Mark Perrier, who created a menu that pays homage to both BC and Northern Italy.

“We give your guests a new approach to northern Italian cuisine,” says Chef Perrier.

“One that is a culinary adventure that offers lesser-known dishes as well as well-known favorites.”

Borrowers can enjoy à la carte dishes or choose the ever-rotating fai tu coke family-style tasting experience, which is $ 85 per person.

For sips, you can expect a good selection of cocktails from Bar Manager Gianluigi Bosco and a premium wine program from wine director David Steele.

Aiming to embody the typical Friulian lifestyle, Carlino opens its doors on Wednesday, December 1st.

This place will be open for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
