Pilot Greg Lynn, 55, was charged yesterday with two counts of murder after being questioned by police at Sales Police Station in East Gippsland since he was arrested on Monday.

Sir. Lynn seemed calm as he met Sale Magistrates’ Court this morning via video link.

He wore a mask and held his hands together, occasionally taking off the mask to take a sip of water.

His wife Melanie Lynn also set up at a distance.

Lynn will remain in custody until May 31, 2022.

Ms. Clay, 73, and Mr. Hill, 74, disappeared while camping in the Wonnangatta Valley on March 20 last year.

Victoria Police Assistant Bob Hill said yesterday that police had not yet found the remains of the missing couple.

He said police had located a specific area of ‚Äč‚Äčinterest in the Greater Alpine region in the search for the remains and that police were hoping they would find them.

“Our efforts to locate the remains of Russell and Carol will continue,” he said.

The extensive search with difficult terrain continued in the bushland region today.

Assistant Commissioner Hill said investigators had determined the couple had died by mid-2020.
