Unless you are a true vehicle enthusiast, very few would consider going across the country to see a truck.

But the iconic Coca Cola Christmas truck certainly inspires fans to take to the road to get a photo of the famous truck.

And there’s a chance for North Staffordshire families to shop a bit and also get a glimpse of it – after it stopped at Manchester’s Trafford Center.

And the Manchester Evening News has reported that there has been no shortage of people queuing up to get a picture – with some traveling outside the area.

Tracy Pickup and her family traveled from Burnley to see the Coca-Cola truck – and she even finished work early, just so she had time to drive down to see it.

She flew to Lanzarote yesterday and made sure she came down on Friday to see it before her Christmas break.

“It’s something I’ve never seen before and we always drink Coca-Cola,” she said.

Unlike previous years, where a full schedule of stops has been announced in advance, this year the company drips its locations and confirms stops just a few days before its scheduled arrival.

It was first announced this week that the truck would be on its way to The Trafford Center – where it will remain until Sunday, December 5th. Since it arrived on Friday, it is open from kl. 11:00 to 20.00.

Michelle Thompson is another shopper who saw the famous Coca-Cola truck at The Trafford Center.

She made the journey all the way down from Glasgow with her niece – and says it’s so much bigger and nicer than any shopping mall in Scotland.

The Coca-Cola truck with its clear white lighting and of course Santa’s face was an added bonus.

“It’s a great little photo opportunity, so that was it,” she said.

The last time the truck came to Manchester two years ago, it stopped at both Asda Eastlands and The Trafford Center.

The Coca-Cola truck first appeared on the screen in November 1995 and has since become a well-known element in festive television programs in more than 100 different countries.

The classic ad shows a parade of flashing trucks winding their way through a snow-covered landscape, lighting up Christmas trees and houses as they pass while children watch in amazement.
