Liverpool recently announced the arrival of Brazilian legend Claudio Taffarel, who joined Jürgen Klopp’s staff as goalkeeping coach.

The 55-year-old will balance his duties at Merseyside with his role as goalkeeping coach for Tite with the Brazilian national team.

However, UOL journalist Juca Kfouri believes Liverpool’s decision could create problems for Manchester City’s gloves Ederson.

What’s the story?

Well, Kfouri has a good point.

The 71-year-old feels that Taffarel can give Alisson a preferred treatment when it comes to helping Tite pick a No. 1 for Seleção.

He wrote: “Difficult question. For it does not make sense that the national team goalkeeping coach should be as exclusive as the coach is, but it seems natural and human that the choice of starting lineup should go down to the player closest to Taffarel. ”

In truth, this gives Alisson a bit of an advantage.

Taffarel will be able to work with him on a daily basis at Liverpool’s AXA Training Center, and also on the international stage.

In that respect, everything Taffarel wants to train for his goalkeepers should be found in Alisson, making him the excellent choice.

However, Kfouri’s argument does not carry much weight.

Ederson still does not play over Alisson

In our opinion, Alisson should still start over with £ 35m man, no matter where Taffarel works.

Either way, Tite also seems to share that opinion, even before Taffarel accepted Liverpool’s offer to work with Klopp.

Alisson has won 51 international matches for Brazil and started for Seleção at the 2018 World Cup.

In Ederson’s case, the 28-year-old has only 17 caps for Brazil, so Alisson is clearly the favorite.

In that regard, it should not be blamed on Taffarel if Alisson continues to start for Brazil, as Tite still chose him ahead of Liverpool No. 1.
