8 of Toronto’s biggest events set to return in 2022

After what the last two years have put us through, it is safe to say that pretty much everyone has high hopes for 2022, especially the organizers of Toronto’s biggest events. Many of the city’s biggest festivals plan to be back in full swing this year and start announcing what they’ll be cooking for 2022. If all goes according to plan, we have tons of concerts, carnivals, art shows and food festivities to look forward to this year .

Here are 8 of the biggest Toronto events planning to make a comeback in 2022.


After two years of closures for Toronto’s iconic late summer fair, it looks like we’ll finally get to The Ex this summer. CNE has quietly sold admission tickets on its website for the upcoming season, scheduled for August 19 to September 5, 2022. It has not been announced yet, but we will keep our eyes open.

Toronto Caribbean Carnival

Caribana is ready to make a comeback in July 2022 and we can not wait. According to the current schedule, the official launch of the Caribbean Carnival will be held on July 20th and the Grand Parade will take place on July 30th. Cross your fingers that everything goes according to plan!

Sleepless night

The City of Toronto says the Contemporary Art Festival, held all night each fall, plans to return to its normal format in 2022. An online version of the event was held in 2021, and hopefully we can all get back to wandering around the city and explore art installations in person in the coming year.

TD Toronto Jazz Festival

The Jazz Festival, which Toronto looks forward to each year, has announced its first shows in 2022, which run from June 24 to July 3. The festival begins with an early performance by Herbie Hancock on April 22 at Meridian Hall. It will be the festival’s 35th year in a row, so you can definitely look forward to some incredible program.


Toronto’s month-long Pride celebration plans to return in 2022. Pride Toronto announced that a month of personal activities and a jam-packed Pride Festival Weekend is being planned for the coming year, starting June 1st and ending June. 26. 2022. A lineup of headliners and appearances has already been announced and you can see the list here.

Field music festival

The Veld Music Festival plans to bring a weekend of EDM back to town this July 30th and 31st. As in previous years, the festival occupies Downsview Park in the summer. Two big names have already been announced, Marshmello and Martin Garrix, but many more will be announced as the date approaches.

Boots & Hearts

The county music festival, which occupies Burl’s Creek each summer, returns in a big way in August 2022. The festival will be led by Shania Twain, Florida Georgia Line and Sam Hunt. Tickets are already on sale for the event, which takes place from August 4 to August 7.

Honda Indy

After two years of canceled races, Toronto’s annual Indy is finally on track to return in 2022. The cars will start their engines on July 15 and drive around the Exhibition Place area until July 17. Tickets are not on sale yet, but stay tuned!
