Emerging State of Origin star charged after allegedly killing a victim at the hospital

A new star from the State of Origin has had the charges against him upgraded after the man he allegedly beat in Queensland died at the hospital.

Oshae Jackson Tuiasau, 26, reportedly beat another man at Surfers Paradise on the Gold Coast, just before 4 a.m. on Dec. 19.

Police said the two men were known to each other and were walking along Surfers Paradise Boulevard at the time of the alleged attack.

It is alleged that the single blow hit the 39-year-old New South Wales man to the ground, where he hit his head in the concrete.

The emergency services performed CPR on the man for eight minutes before he was transported to the hospital with a critical head injury.

He was then placed in an induced coma.

Police confirmed this morning that he was dead as a result of the injury.

Sir. Tuiasau, who was arrested at the time of the alleged attack, was initially charged with grievous bodily harm and received bail with strict conditions after appearing in court last week.

In court, it was heard that the two men had been involved in an altercation at a nightclub prior to the alleged beating.

After the man’s death, Mr Tuiasau has been arrested again and his charges were upgraded to crack down on death.

Sir. Tuiasau appeared in Southport Magistrates Court this morning, where his family and the family of his alleged victim were present.

He was denied his bail application and will be in jail tonight.

He will return to court in February.
