The Scottish Society of Ottawa celebrates its 10th anniversary of Hogman-Eh! pretty much New Year’s Eve.

The organizers decided to cancel the personal part of Hogman-Eh 21 Reconnect & Rejoice due to the COVID-19 situation.

Christmas lights all over Canada runs until 12 noon on New Year’s Eve.

Enjoy the multimedia projection show on Parliament Hill that adds light to winter evenings.

The glowing sparks travel across Canada’s many landscapes. When they overcome obstacles, they will be helped to solve their important task.

The Magic of Light in Wesley Clover Parks runs at night from 17-22 through January 8th.

Get off at night at Upper Canada Village, in Morrisburg, is a unique event, with over a million candles adorning the historic buildings, trees and fences.

Call in the New Year ice skating. The city of Ottawa’s outdoor ice rinks are open for the season. There are capacity restrictions on outdoor skating rinks from December 26th. The maximum capacity will be posted on each skating rink.

Many restaurants offer special meals for New Year’s Eve.

There are indoor capacity limits for all restaurants in Ottawa due to COVID-19, and proof of vaccination is required. Last call is at 22:00, and restaurants must close for indoor dining before kl. 23.00 under the current COVID-19 restrictions.

1 Elgin restaurant at the National Arts Center holds New Year’s Eve table d’hôte on December 31 from 17-21. The restaurant will also have a New Year’s brunch and New Year’s dinner.
