Scherri-Lee Biggs says goodbye to the Today show; returns ‘to the road’

Scherri-Lee Biggs says goodbye to the Today show and goes back ‘on the road’ – after viewers encouraged her to become a full-time weather host.

Scherri-Lee Biggs has won over Today Show viewers while filling up for weatherman Tim Davies over the holiday season.

And on Wednesday, the 31-year-old Perth native announced in the air that she was on her way back ‘on the road’ after presenting in the Sydney studio ‘only once’.

‘Boys, this is only a one-off for me in the studio. I’m back on the road tomorrow; I’m on my way to Umina, which I’m told is a beautiful part of New South Wales, ‘she told fill-in hosts Charles Croucher and Sarah Abo and fill-in newsreader Christine Ahern.

After her last weather forecast on Wednesday, Scherri-Lee joined her co-hosts on the couch and said she was looking forward to more adventures along the way.

‘It’s not going to be crazy tomorrow, I do not think. I do not know, you never know what is in store, ‘she joked.

‘It’s been a lot of fun. I still have a lot to explore on the east coast, which has been a nice little pleasure for me. ‘

Today, viewers will be happy to know that her time on the show is not over yet, as she will continue to work as a traveling weather host while Tim Davies is on vacation.

It comes after viewers last week urged Scherri-Lee to step into the role permanently.

Fans flooded the former beauty pageant queen’s Instagram page with comments, asking her to leave her home country of Perth and stay in Sydney full time.

‘Holy smoker. I’re switching to Nine, ‘one whispered, while another wrote,’ Sydney’s win, Perth’s loss! ‘

But Scherri-Lee shattered their dreams by confirming that she planned to return to Perth when her temporary concert with Today in Sydney was over.

“I have a few more weeks before I head back to the Wild Wild West,” she told a follower.

In another comment, she said she had enjoyed her time on the show, but admitted it had been hard work.
