The police forensic department is investigating the incident on Watson Street

Sarnia police have launched an investigation into an incident on Watson Street.

Police have released few details about the investigation, but said officers were called to a unit on Watson Street near London Road around 3.45pm on Tuesday.

Late Tuesday night, police announced that members of the forensic investigation department and forensic identification department have taken over the investigation.

“Currently the scene is being held by police and the command post is present on Watson Street,” reads a statement issued by the Sarnia Police Service. “The command post is expected to be there in the next few days while officers continue their investigation and gather evidence.”

The public is asked to stay away from the area for the time being.

According to police, the investigation is in the very early stages and very few details are being given to the public at present to prevent the probe from being compromised.

More details about the investigation will be given at a later date as the investigation continues.
