Manhunt in progress after 3 suspects accused of killing man trying to recover stolen dogs in Texas

A manhunt is underway in Texas after three suspects accused of murdering a man after stealing his friend’s dogs.

Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez stepped in Social Media Wednesday to say that three suspects allegedly stole several dogs from a breeder or kennel and then contacted the owners to return the dogs in return for a reward.

Deputies say the dog owner and his friend met the suspects for the exchange just before noon. 18 Tuesday at a gas station on the northeast side of Houston. Riots broke out and the dog owner’s friend was shot and killed.

“There was a little bit of push, and then the guns came out. The victim was shot right here at the gas station behind me,” Lieutenant Robert Minchew of the HCSO homicide unit told FOX 26 Houston on the spot.

Investigators are seeking public help to identify the people in a matte black Chrysler 300 sedan. The suspects appeared to be three black men with fair skin in their 20s, according to Gonzalez.
