On Christmas Day, he attempted murder in Kirkcaldy as the accused man

A 47-year-old man has been charged in connection with a suspected assassination attempt on Christmas Day.

Around 7:10 p.m. Saturday, a 39-year-old man was found seriously injured in a property on Templehall Avenue in Kirkcaldy.

He was taken to Victoria Hospital for treatment.

The 47-year-old accused in connection with the alleged murder attempt is due to appear in Kirkcaldy Sheriff Court on Thursday, December 30th.

The arrest comes as police officers locked Cairnwell Place earlier today and cordoned off the street with restless vans.

Local residents reported that their gardens were searched while they then officers searched the street and looked in trash cans, under vehicles and in drains.



Officers are currently at Cairnwell Place

Police urge anyone with information about the incident to contact them.

A Scotland spokesman said: “A 47-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with the attempted murder of a 39-year-old man who was found with serious damage to a property on Templehall Avenue in Kirkcaldy around 7.10pm. Saturday, December 25th.

“The victim was taken to Victoria Hospital for treatment.

The 47-year-old is due to appear in Kirkcaldy Sheriff’s Court on Thursday, December 30th.

“Inquiries about the incident are ongoing and anyone with information can call 101 and quote incident 2049 of December 25.”
