A man was trampled on several times while unconscious during a “sick” fight in Noosa.
Confronting footage delivered to 7NEWS, seen in the video above, shows the violent incident on Hastings Street around 2 a.m. Thursday.
Police believe up to 15 people were involved in the fight.
The trampled victim was hospitalized with serious facial injuries.
The 29-year-old Sunshine Coast man was “defenseless” at the time of the attack, according to senior sergeant Craig Mansfield.
“It’s a sick attack,” he said.
“How he has not suffered more serious injuries is beyond me.”
The footage shows several people throwing punches while the man is lying on the road.
He is trampled around the head and neck before a young woman comes to his aid.
It is not known if those involved in the incident know each other.
It Snr Sgt Mansfield said that alcohol has probably been a factor.
“Alcohol is a part of it, for sure,” he said.
“They had been visiting approved premises.
“It looks like there was a group of people in conflict with another group of people.”
Police are appealing to the public for information.
It Snr Sgt Mansfield said police have “some clues” about the identities of those involved.
“There are a number of people involved,” he said.
‘A number of people are likely to be charged for the incident.
‘That type of behavior will not be tolerated.
“If the police identify the people involved, they will be charged with serious offenses.”
