An investigation is underway.

Benjamin has been described by his ‘heartbroken’ family as a ‘beautiful son, loyal brother and good father of four’.

In a tribute issued through GMP, his family said: “As a family, we are all deeply crushed over the loss of our Legs.

“He was a handsome son, loyal brother, an amazing father of four and a loving brother-in-law and uncle.

“He was loved by so many and we all come together as a family to mourn.

Gone, but never forgotten, his legacy will live on. RIP angel slept well. “

Benjamin played for Follo FC, a Manchester-based football club for fathers mourning the loss of a child.

His teammates also paid tribute to him, describing him as an ‘understanding’ and ‘caring’ friend.

Officers continue to urge anyone who has seen the collision to report.

They especially want to talk to anyone who has dash-cam recordings, or who saw a pedestrian on the road at the time.

Anyone with information can contact the Serious Collision Investigation Unit on 0161 856 4741 indicating log 286 of 28/12/21.
