These are the areas where Covid is spreading fastest in Milton Keynes

The estate after Two Mile Ash has been identified as the place where Covid is currently spreading fastest in Milton Keynes.

Government figures show that the estate registered an increase of 118% in cases between 16 December and 23 December.

This made it the fastest growing Covid hotspot in MK with the sixth highest number of cases from the district’s 32 districts.

Parts of Milton Keynes are real Covid hotspots

The highest number of cases that week came in a more rural area – Bow Brickholl and Woburn Sands. Here the case percentage increased (number of cases per 100,000 persons, from 1,309.3 on 16 December to 1,978.5 on 23 December.

The area with the fewest Covid cases in MK is Oldbrook and Coffee Hall, where the case frequency increased by only 10.9% to turn out to be 951.6 on 23 December.

People in Great Linford and Giffard Park have also done well. Their case rate of 959.8 did not change during the week and they had the second lowest number in the entire borough.

Earlier this month, MK public health officials estimated that about 40% of the district’s Covid cases were the Omicron variant. This percentage may now have increased significantly.
