What Edinburgh’s new average house price can give you in different parts of the city

The average price of a new home in Edinburgh is £ 293,406 – a seven per cent increase from this time last year, according to new data.

Graham Blair, chief mortgage officer at Bank of Scotland, who provided the data, said: “Scottish house prices have had another bumper year, with growth exceeding the UK average and properties in almost every city are now worth more than 12 months ago. .

“The feedback we get from customers matches what we see in the data. Long-term work from home has affected where people want to live and what type of property they want to own.

“While our larger cities remain attractive, with commuting now less of a priority, areas offering more space and more affordable prices have seen increasing demand from buyers.”
