Residents on British Columbia’s south coast woke up Thursday morning to a thick layer of snow.
Whether the result was a winter wonderland or a snow-covered nightmare probably depended on whether you were a commuter or not, but for many, the fresh white coating was magical.

Global BC meteorologist Mark Madryga said most parts of the lower mainland saw between 10 and 20 inches of snow fall overnight.
The region is expected to see clear and cold conditions until Saturday, when snow may return before temperatures rise and heavy rain arrives on Sunday.
