Ralf Rangnick was happy with the game so far, but still wanted to change the line up Manchester United

Ralf Rangnick has revealed that he warned his players about their body language after Monday’s foolish draw in Newcastle and was pleased with the response when Manchester United beat Burnley 3-1.

United received criticism for visible displays of lust and lack of unity during the 1-1 draw at St James’ Park.

The interim manager was aware that this had to stop. “In team sports, it’s always important that you’re convinced of what you’re doing,” Rangnick said.

“In Newcastle it was a difficult match for us, we were 1-0 down after seven minutes. They did well, we did not play well, especially in the first half. Therefore, the reaction to what happens on the pitch is the question. How do we react to this? Do we fight back, do we show them that we are a team that believes in itself, or do we shake our heads and wave our arms and help the other team and hurt our own team?

“For me, it was clear to tell them that it’s important that we work and behave as a team and not show those kind of side effects on the pitch.”

Scott McTominay, who scored Thursday’s opening game against Burnley and impressed all the way through, admitted that Rangnick was right in giving the warning. “Body language is one thing and the manager has come in and said he wants to remove it so it is final. We have taken it on board, “said the midfielder.

A further stroke from Cristiano Ronaldo plus Ben Mee’s own goal was only answered by Aaron Lennon, all goals came before the break. This was Rangnick’s fifth match and he praised his team’s attack.

“I would say yes [our best display], “he said.” But every time the ball was on our half, there was still room for improvement [defensively] but offensively, I agree that it was our best performance. ”

McTominay had been in doubt due to a leg problem. “We only decided this afternoon at two o’clock that he would play as he had some issues with the ankle contusion he incurred in Newcastle,” Rangnick said. “So it was good to have him available and on the team.”

Jorge Mendes, Ronaldo’s agent, claimed the striker is happy at United after rumors of unrest. “Cristiano Ronaldo is very fond of Manchester United,” he told Sky Sports. “He will continue with his solid, great performances as always in his career. It will be a fantastic season for him, I am sure”.
