Rainbow Six Extraction is only a few days away, and Ubisoft has released several trailers in the run-up to the game’s release. While Extraction is one of January’s most notable releases, it appears to be flying under the radar.
Ubisoft recently detailed the Maelstrom Protocol in Rainbow Six Extraction, which will give players 9 goals with different modifiers and represent some of the playoff content offered. The operators as well as the targets rotate on a weekly basis and it aims to keep the players engaged throughout the post-launch period. Now Ubisoft has released a new trailer that highlights the key capabilities of one of the operators.
The video provides a brief insight into how operator Rook can help the team in Rainbow Six Extraction. Rook can drop armor plates for the entire team, and players wearing armor will gain increased resistance to damage during enemy encounters. In addition, players will be knocked down, rather than knocked out, when using these armor plates, potentially helping to ward off operators going MIA. The short 40-second video focuses mainly on Rook’s unique abilities and shows some glimpses of the match.
The trailer ends by mentioning that friends can play Rainbow Six Extraction free via a Buddy Pass system. This will allow players to invite 2 friends, on any platform, to play for up to 14 days. It sounds like this Buddy Pass will work in the same way as co-op in It takes two, which also allowed players to invite a friend for free.
Fans on PC should take a look at the minimum system requirements for Rainbow Six Extraction before completing their purchase. Players do not need an advanced PC to play Extraction, and it will support unlimited frame rates beyond the Nvidia DLSS, Nvidia Reflex and Vulkan API. It will also get support for ray tracing on PC.
Rainbow Six Extraction is not a full price game where the standard edition is available for $ 39.99. A deluxe edition, which comes with 3 bonus packages, sells for $ 49.99. Moreover, Extraction will be a Day 1 release on Xbox Game Pass, on both console and PC, when it launches on January 20th. Coincidentally, both Rainbow Six Extraction and Hitman trilogy launches on Xbox Game Pass the same day. Ubisoft hopes Rainbow Six Extraction can reach the level of popularity Rainbow Six Siege, but at least its lower price and availability on the Xbox Game Pass should help maintain a healthy player base.
Rainbow Six Extraction launches January 20 for PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One and Xbox Series X / S.
