It will be a messy Monday morning in Mississauga, Brampton, Hamilton, Halton and the Durham region.

A special weather declaration applies to:

  • Mississauga – Brampton
  • Hamilton
  • Burlington
  • Oakville
  • Halton Hills
  • Milton
  • Pickering
  • Oshawa
  • and the Southern Durham Region

There will be heavy snow and local snowfall likely on Sunday evening and Monday morning.

Snow is expected to arrive over southern Ontario Sunday night. The snow will spread rapidly to the northeast during Monday.

The snow will at times fall heavily with the possibility of snowfall of a few inches per hour, especially early Monday morning.

A total snowfall of 10 to 20 cm is expected.

Exact amounts in and around the greater Toronto area are relatively uncertain at present, as this region is located on the western edge of the area that is expected to receive snow.

In addition, strong northwesterly winds with gusts up to 50 km / h will result in areas with poor visibility due to snow drifts.

Conditions are expected to improve on Monday afternoon as the snow is coming to an end.
