Samsung must have been tired of the leak and the rumors because the company has opened the locks. In a blog post, the President of Business, Dr. TM Roh that the “most notable S unit” will be unveiled in February. While this does not give us an exact date, virtually all leaks and rumors point to an event on February 9, when the units will officially go on sale at the end of the month.
Many of these things are just fluff to start building the hype train leading up to the event. It is a tactic that is consistently used by many phone manufacturers, including Samsung. But when you actually read what the blog post says, there are a few things we can sense without having to look at the leak or the rumors.
First, the blog post has a two-section section that talks about the Galaxy Note and Galaxy Z Fold series of phones, including how innovative the S Pen has come. There have also been small gold nuggets dropped throughout the post, suggesting that at least one of Samsung’s upcoming devices will really replace the Galaxy Note forever. Roh even mentions how fans were disappointed and “surprised when Samsung did not release a new Galaxy Note last year”.
We know many of you were surprised when Samsung did not release a new Galaxy Note last year. You loved the unmatched creativity and efficiency of the Galaxy Note series, which allowed you to switch from gaming nirvana to high-octane productivity in an instant. You raved about the lifelike S Pen that many say rivals by putting ink on paper. And we have not forgotten those experiences you love.
True, there is much more than just a few cues pointing to the return of the S Pen with the Galaxy S22 series. But the blog post concludes by talking about how this will be the “smartest Galaxy experience yet”. This could be a nod to the Exynos 2200 that was just announced, or it could just be the combination of having either the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 or the Exynos 2200. What remains to be seen is how well Samsung has integrated the AI experience for not just the camera system but also the overall experience.
Along with the confirmation of the upcoming event, Samsung has also confirmed to various stores that you will be able to take advantage of a “Reserve Now” pre-order offer. This will give you a $ 50 credit for accessories and you will be among the first to actually place your order once the units are unveiled. This offer starts tomorrow (Friday) at 10:00 ET so we will be sure to provide more information when it is made available.
