Two men have been arrested after a stabbing at an apartment party in Leicester.

Officers were called to the University of Leicester accommodation at Nixon Court in Putney Road in the city on January 20, where a man in his twenties had been stabbed.

The man remains in hospital, where he remains in a critical but stable condition after sustaining a “single stab wound”, Leicestershire police confirmed.

Two 22-year-old men from Slough have been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.

They remain in police custody and await questioning by investigators.

Officers say they are still eager to talk to people with further information as investigations are underway.

A police cordon is still at the scene of the incident in the student premises.

A roadblock at the student residence remains in place and officers continue to work with the university regarding the incident.

Martyn Riddleston, Chief Operating Officer at the University of Leicester said in an earlier statement: “Dedicated support is available for students who have concerns or need assistance – please contact our Student Support Services team directly or send an email to concern @ “

Another barrier at Homebase and Halford’s car park near the site has since been lifted.

Detective Rob Arthur, from the Force’s complex investigation team, said: “Our investigations are still very much ongoing as the investigation progresses, and despite this arrest, we are still eager to talk to anyone who may have any information on what is happening. happened, which we have not talked about.
