Downtown Music Holdings-owned B2B distributor FUGA has entered into an agreement with the independent music company Mascot Label Group, home to artists such as Black Stone Cherry, Beth Hart, Shaman’s Harvest, Vola and Dragged Under.
In support of Mascot’s recent expansion of its digital arm, FUGA will handle distribution across its six publishers, Mascot Records, Provogue Records, Music Theories Recordings, Cool Green Records, The Funk Garage and The Players Club.
This includes its existing catalog of more than 6,000 songs, as well as all new releases.
Mascot will also benefit from FUGA’s global marketing expertise, the company says, which includes DSP and editorial-focused services such as playlist targeting and user-generated content.
Alongside the news of its partnership with Mascot, FUGA has announced that it has expanded its supply of immersive sound to TIDAL, and has already delivered Dolby Atmos mixed tracks from clients including Anjunabeats and Ninja Tune.
Members who subscribe to TIDAL’s HiFi Plus level will be able to access the immersive audio format.
Announced in late 2021, TIDAL’s HiFi Plus membership level offers fan-centered royalties and direct-to-artist payments, a “first step” in creating tools that “prioritize the artist experience as well as transparency and revenue features,” the company says. .
This follows FUGA’s initial move to immersive sound last year, when it became a B2B distributor delivering spatial sound to Apple Music.
The company also entered into a global delivery platform service agreement with the Beggars Group, one of the world’s leading independent music rights firms, in November.
