A man wanted on a Canada-wide court order in connection with a deadly shooting in Toronto has been arrested.

On January 18, Toronto police were called around noon. 02.45 for a shooting in an apartment building on Rexdale Blvd. and the Islington Ave. area.

Officers found Andre O’Neil Atkinson, 24, of Toronto, suffering from fatal gunshot wounds. He died on the spot.

Atkinson was the city’s seventh homicide this year.

The day after the killing, Jaleem Abdella-Smith, 19, of Toronto, was arrested and charged with second-degree murder.

Investigators said Jan. 20 that a warrant had been issued for Mohamid Lamin Singateh, 21, of Toronto, to appear after the case.

He was arrested Sunday and charged, and was about to appear in Finch Ave. W. court Monday.
