While many students return to teaching today at MUN, some will stage a walkout in protest of the university’s decision to return to campus at this time.
The university still stands by its claim that the return can be done safely. However, the decision is still controversial with many groups, including MUNSU, demanding more flexibility and support for students and staff who do not feel safe returning to campus.
MUN Students’ Union tweeted its support for students and staff participating in the strike. They say students deserve access to education without risking their health.
They encourage students to send an email to MUN President Vianne Timmons, the Provost and CRO to share their concerns.
