With the debate being held only 10 days from polling day, it will likely be one of the leaders’ last chances to stand shoulder-to-shoulder and plead their case.

Further details on the format of the debate will be announced closer to the night.

The first debate, held in Queensland on April 20, saw the leaders field questions from undecided voters.

Housing affordability, integrity, electric vehicles, the NDIS, the economy and China dominated the topics discussed.

A second debate will be held this weekend.

The announcement comes as the latest polls predict a dire outcome for the Coalition.

Labor led the Coalition 53-47 on a two-party preferred basis in the latest Newspoll.

The ALP’s primary vote lifted one point to 38 per cent while the Coalition remained unchanged at 36 per cent.

Morrison on Monday campaigned in the marginal Western Sydney seat of Parramatta, before going south of the border to Geelong and southwest Victoria.

Albanese launched Labor’s campaign in Perth on Sunday before heading to Brisbane to campaign with Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk.
