QR Codes became a huge part of our lives during the pandemic – and now Woolworths has introduced them as a way to buy your groceries.
All Woolies supermarkets and Big W stores now have a unique QR code displayed on each checkout that shoppers can scan to pay.

First, customers must link their credit, debit or gift card to a digital wallet through the retailer’s Everyday Rewards app.
Then you should browse the aisles and grab all of the items you would like to buy before taking them to the check-out as usual.
You’ll then be able to pay for your shopping simply by scanning the QR code on the pin pad.
Woolworths Managing Director Hannah Ross told Sunrise the supermarket giant is “very excited” about the “seamless” new way to pay and collect Everyday Rewards Points at the same time.
“Instead of tapping your loyalty card and then tapping your credit card, a single QR code does everything all in one go,” she said on Thursday.
The supermarket will send shoppers an electronic receipt following a transaction to reduce rubbish.
Ross said you must be “logged in to the Rewards app” using a passcode or facial identification before you can use the new payment method, ensuring your card details are secure.
“We have very high standards of security and privacy.”
