Peel Regional Police say they have arrested and charged a Toronto man in relation to a fatal shooting in Brampton from earlier this month.
It was shortly after 4am on Sunday, June 5 when emergency services responded to a call for a shooting in the Advance Boulevard and Alfred Kuehne Boulevard area of the city.
On scene, officers located a man suffering from gunshot wounds. He was taken to a trauma center where he died as a result of his injuries.
The man has since been identified as 38-year-old Alberto Suman-Ossa from Maple.
Yesterday, Wednesday, June 29, a 40-year-old Toronto man was arrested and charged with second-degree murder.
He has been identified as Sheldon McFarlane. He was held for a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton that same day.
“Our service is committed to ensuring justice for those affected by gun violence. It has no place in our community and will not be tolerated. This was a complex investigation which achieved this outcome from an investigative team motivated by those values. ” said Nick Milinovich, Deputy Chief of Investigative and Emergency Services, in a release announcing the arrest.
