Manchester United are looking to sell Brandon Williams as he does not feature in Erik ten Hag’s Old Trafford plans, according to journalist Pete O’Rourke.
With ten Hag looking to reshape the squad he has inherited after taking over as the Red Devils’ new boss following the climax of last season, he appears to have already made a decision on Williams.
What’s the latest news involving Williams?
Williams has returned to the red half of Manchester after spending last season on loan with Norwich City.
However, he may not be at Old Trafford for much longer than, according to The Sun, the Red Devils are ready to cash-in on their academy graduate if a bid worth in the region of £ 10million is tabled.
The report suggests Williams, a one-cap England under-21 international, is in-demand and eager to enjoy more game-time rather than potentially playing a bit-part role at Manchester United.
Nottingham Forest – fresh from securing promotion to the Premier League via the Championship play-offs – have emerged as suitors, along with Aston Villa.
Williams’ £ 65,000-per-week contract has two years remaining, although the Red Devils hold the option of extending the agreement by a further 12 months.
What has Pete O’Rourke said about Williams?
O’Rourke understands Williams is surplus to requirements and the appointment of ten Hag has not necessarily played into his hands.
However, the journalist reckons the full-back will have plenty of admirers after making an impact during the early stages of his career.

O’Rourke told GIVEMESPORT: “It does seem that he might be leaving Manchester United this summer as he is not going to be in ten Hag’s plans.
“He is a good, young player with huge potential. He burst onto the scene at Manchester United but then found his first-team chances limited.
“He did well for Norwich last season, despite the relegation, and he was one of their better players.”
Does a move away make sense for Williams?
Williams has featured for Manchester United on 50 occasions after progressing through the club’s youth ranks, but it is unlikely he will be able to make the left-back slot his own.
Tyrell Malacia appears to be on his way to Old Trafford from Feyenoord and that will only send Williams further down the pecking order.
The 21-year-old has previously revealed he is comfortable with leaving the Red Devils in order to realize his dream of becoming a first-team regular in the Premier League, so a departure could be best for all parties.
